Sio: A Rogues Gallery

The Rogues Gallery are the collected tales from the life of the bandit, thief and all round sarcastic bitch Sio, told in her own 'unique' words.

Sio: Princess of Thieves. (With Beta readers before seeking publication)Sio, a wise-cracking sarcastic Rogue girl from the world of Tarkeld is tasked by an honourable Paladin from the Holy Order of the Goddess Enora to retrieve an 'artefact'. All is not what it seems though, little does she know what the artefact is, or the trouble it will cause...Sio finds herself locked in a battle between rival religious orders for the rule and fate of an entire kingdom, being hunted by everyone, trying to do the right thing for once as well as prevent her own death, will she have to do the unthinkable, turn herself in? Or somehow bring down one of the two religious orders in order to prevent a war?

Sio: Shipwrecked. (First draft complete, needs a lot of work).

For a change of scene and a chance at some extra cash Sio turns her hand to piracy, particularly joining a crew and then tricking information out of other pirates of targets. However the ship she is a member of is captured and largely slain by a mysterious ship apparently a member of Black Jack Harrison's fleet, a strange man capturing people and using them as slaves in his own pirate kingdom' an island protected by his pet sea beasts...Sio finds herself one of the slaves on his island, where Jack's plans for her are to 'entertain' his men...He didn't reckon with her being a skilled Rogue though, and soon she's a vigilante upsetting Jack's workings and trying to find a way off the island...and in the process find out exactly what Jack is...

Sio: Freedom. (Ready for Beta reading)

Sio sets out for a simple retrieval job...a gem buried in the woods, no problem...unless that gem is the famed Gem of Coll, symbol of an entire kingdom, and soldiers have been tipped off as to where the thing is. Framed for stealing the symbol of a kingdom Sio ends up on the run from guards of Coll, and from every criminal she knows now that a whopping great bounty is placed on her head. She soon finds that the gem theft is much bigger than she could ever have believed as it runs deep into something the kingdom of Coll holds dear, control of its Syltare slave population. Can Sio bring down centuries of oppression for members of her race? Or will she be hung for thievery as a Syltarian runaway?

Sio: Tournament of Lies. (Ready for Beta reading).

Caught stealing from a temple in the Rogarin Empire Sio is sentenced to death but offered an alternative by a mysterious benefactor- become a gladiator in the grand tournament held every three years so that she has the opportunity to steal a sword for him to sell to help him pay to win election to power. But why is everyone afraid of this sword? What is its significance? And who is it that her benefactor is writing to with talks of controlling the Empire? Crowds cheer her on in the tournament, politicians play games with her a pawn in their games of power, all while she tries to establish just to what end she's being used for. How deep down the Rogarin rabbit hole will she find this goes?

Sio: War. (Work in progress, 37k words in).

The Syltarian plains have been invaded by humans from the warlike nation of Chevelt, in doing so all bandits and thieves are captured at Gallows Corner in Syltare and put to work for the army. Sio forced to be a waitress plans escape to locate her mum, now lost somewhere in occupied Syltare, and ensure her safety. In doing so she joins a rebellion and meets 'the man who would be king' of the Syltare. But what's really going on? Is this a straightforward invasion? And will Sio ever be free again?

Sio: Jaskin's Noose. (Novel planned, not yet started)

A few years prior to the previous stories Sio was learning her craft as part of a group called "The Proviac Company" under the leadership of Jaskin. When war comes between two human kingdoms Jaskin puts the group to work for one faction, while courting a robbery to finance the rivals. Eventually caught it comes to a question of loyalty for her mentor, or to her friends for their survival and how all of their lives will pan out from here as the noose around them tightens.

Sio: Sio's End. (This story has been written twelve times for the Tarkeld 'Choose your own adventure novel' I did some years ago in which Sio was a recruitable character, this time it will be seen from Sio's point of view).

Gone to search for her missing brother Sio discovers evidence of demons returning to the world. Teaming up with a member of the anti-demon warrior cult the Jaegers, and some random hangers on thrown together they go in search of the source of the demons and Sio's brother. What they find shatters the illusion of a peaceful world...Sio will call on every ally she has made, every person who owes her a favour and even the leaders of races...because it's this...or the end not just of her life, but of all life.
